Early December 2015, a journey that started in February, came to an end: The Singapore Writers Group published its second short story collection, Tales of Two Cities. This time, it was a coordinated effort with the Hong Kong Writers Circle. Under the editorial guidance of Alice Clark-Platts, Mickey Lin and their HKWC counterparts, a compelling and polished book that included twenty three stories from writers from both cities, emerged. This book found a publisher in Singapore in Ethos Books, and my story ‘The Festival’ found a home.
The timely publication of the book made my Christmas shopping considerably easier. Although that was really a cheat. It was indeed a present to myself to know that my loved ones would have the opportunity to read my and my colleagues’ work.
Last week, we learned that TOTC has been nominated to the Asian Books Blog Book of the Lunar Year 2015 Award. Voting is still on, so please feel free to pass by and vote for our book. Thank You!
