I recently wrote an article for Asian Books blog about the launch of This is Not a Safety Barrier, a book of Singapore-inspired poems and photographs responding to the visual prompt to which the title makes reference: Red and White plastic barriers used to demarcate construction areas, with the ‘this is not a safety barrier’ message printed on them.
Edited by Marc Nair and Yen Phang, and printed by Ethos books, the book is available now from the publishers’ website and from selected bookstores by the end of the month.
I am sharing here a couple of pictures from the launch, an enjoyable event where many poets and photographers presented their work to the audience.
