I am not actively looking for writing prompts. Have enough ideas and projects going on to fill up and overflow my writing schedule. However, when I saw the pictures in the first ever visual prompt quarterly contest launched by Helen: A Literary Magazine, I felt compelled to write, as if there was already a poem waiting for these pictures to come out.
Helen is a Vegas-based arts and literary magazine published twice a year since 2014, in print and in digital media. I have explored their issues, and they are awesome.
I sent my poem to the editors, and it happens that it was chosen as the winner of the challenge, and published in their website. You can read it here. Below, the pictures that elicited the poem “Ink Carved Rusty Path”.
